I wish you a long and happy stay. I wish you would visit here more often. I wish you would visit here every day and read all of the posts I've ever made. Or maybe just try to get an RSS feed of this blog. Is that possible? I don't know.. try it.

Almost Summer

It's almost summer, school is winding down. I'm a senior, which means I'll be moving on to another walk of life. I would say I'm ready for that.

I played twice this weekend and sang alot, so my voice is a little worn. But whatever, it's all in good fun.

JTW confirmed wingnight for tuesday, so that's another good thing. Also, he said that he reads my blog (interesting...).

Happy Mothes Day (Yes, Mothes Day)

That title is dedicated to Henry Heisey and Owen Heisey. I only include Owen because I wouldn't know Henry if I didn't know Owen, and Owen showed me the video where Henry goes to TJ's Country Place; ridiculous.

Moving on, Ginger and the rest of our family celebrated Mothers Day today. Michael's gift was getting up at 9 to go get Ginger some Starbucks. I, however, laid in bed. Michael also wrote her a note that said:

"Thanks for being our mom and sorry you have to put up with all the bad behavior (Amy). I've tried to do all I can, but it's not always easy being the best. Love, Michael" (abridged)

I didn't get her anything until Mothes Day morning when I got one of my senior pictures (she has the exact same picture blown up in our kitchen) and wrote a note on it. It said:

"Happy Mothes Day, dude. I love you even though you're a stubborn woman. - Daniel" (unabridged)

Happy Mothes Day.

Saturday, May 6th

The Moonlighters (me and my band) are playing a show. We're still figuring out if it will be a full band thing, still not sure. Anyway, we'll be playing some songs and having some fun. Show up!

Recently

I've been into Demolition lately. (Ryan Adams) Mostly the quiet, genius, acoustic songs. I have also been trying to write a bunch of songs in the same sort of style.... the songs on that cd are so good. The lyrics are captivating and the music plays a perfect counterpart, especially the unconventional chord voicings. yah...

The Blues Jr is the voice of Christ.

Almost. Jacob and I worked on I'll Bring You Roses today, and it turned out pretty sweet. I have been honing my guitar skills and working on a solid, smooth feel. This is now possible because of this little beauty.

It can do wonders for you. This is all thanks to Matt Huber. I'm not really sure where Matt is... I haven't spoken to him in a while, but I HAVE been using his amplifier. Anyway, big thanks to Matt and Fender.

P.S.: JTW - when are we gonna have Wing Night? It'd be a huge event; I'll be there.

Dear Apostle John

Thanks for writing a sweet book of the Bible! I hope that I can get past your first chapter, and move on to the rest of your great work. Also, do you remember when I memorized the 3rd chapter of your book?? Good times. Anyway, keep on spreadin' the word, brotha.

April 22, 2006

We played at the Wild West Auction tonight. Me, David Julca, Bronson Duke, Jacob Snyder, Allan Van Cleave, and Nate Rowe. At first people were angry because they couldn't hear the people trying to make bids. I think we turned ourselves down about 3 or 4 different times. Anyway, it went pretty well and we got some more people that wanted us to play other events and stuff. I think that's probably the best thing that came out of it -- or the 30 dollars in tips we made (pretty cool). We also got a $25 gift certificate to a book store. (I'm gonna go buy Perelandra by C.S. Lewis just because) And the other dudes are getting gift cards to Chipotle. That's it... have a good night.

Bethany "Babe"/"Bee"/"B"/"Babeany" Gibson

She is a smashing woman. She loves art, poetry, good films, and literature. She also loves Jesus in a strange way that your normal conservative Christian would not. Anyone out there who thinks they know much about Christians, I urge you to forget all of it. Because it is true... there are Christians out there who probably share your same beliefs and dilemmas (i.e., Iraq, Homosexual discrimination). I have been thinking about this alot because I have realized many of those who are not of the "Christian" title seem to think that anyone who is of the title supports Bush and supports the imposition of our government and Christianity on the rest of the world. Surprise! this is not true. Anyway, this is just something that has flooded my mind for the past few hours. Also, I've been working out a bit... just push-ups and crunches and walks and runs and jogs. Whatev

Goodnight, and Good Luck. (movie)

My brother, Michael.

What the HELL is going on with this new year?

Yeah, it's really not that bad. I just thought it would be funny to make that the next title considering I haven't posted since New Year's dawn. Anyway, I don't think much has changed since my last post besides that my brother has started a new "thing". Anytime he starts talking to someone (he'll begin to talk - then) he will respond for them with a deep sort of voice. Typically the response includes a "dude" somewhere in there. For example, I'm sitting on my computer and Michael walks in - (Michael) "Hey come look at this." (Michael as me) "No dude, I'm talking to my friends and you're not my friend you're my brother."

yup, new years sucked.

juuuuust as i predicted. i was heading north on 23 when 2006 came around, i didn't even CARE. anyway, so allan van cleave said dick clarks an idiot because during the countdown he said "13...12...8" and continued and finished the countdown early and right after the 6 on 2006, it actually became 2006.

PATHETIC
